A striking map of northwest Africa extending from the Azores to Tripoli in the north and from St. Thomas to the Ivory Coast and the Gulf of Guinea in the south. Lots of great coastal and interior detail of lakes, rivers, deserts and villages. Lovely example of Delisle's craftsmanship and attention to detail. In this map he corrected his previous rendition of the Senegal river that, in earlier maps, he joined to the Nile by a hypothetical line.
