First, by Vincent J. Esposito, Henry Hold & Co., 1995 was prepared by the Department of Military Art and Engineering of the U.S. Military Academy. Originally published in 1959, this new edition contains revised text and maps, a new bibliography and a new forward by General John R. Galvin. The 158 color maps cover every campaign in the Colonial Wars, American Revolution, War of 1812, the Mexican War, the Civil War and the Spanish-American War. Ninety percent of the book is dedicated to the Civil War. Small folio, hardbound in blue linen with illustrated dust jacket. Second, by Hubbard Cobb, MacMillan, 1995 is subtitled "A complete guide to the Historic Conflicts in words, maps and photos." 8 vo, 382 pp., soft illustrated covers.
