Detailed map providing information on the counties, watershed, settlements, Indian villages and railroads. Shows the proposed route of the Illinois Central Railroad. Notes Indian land boundary and shows the area ceded to the U.S. by the Sioux, Sax and Fox nations. Burr was also a commercial cartographer and publisher of some note. In addition to being the Topographer to the Post Office and the Geographer to the House of Representatives. Dated 1836, but published circa 1849.
