Large sheet details a scheme to lower ships down Lewiston Ridge via locks, basins and an artificial harbor. The main map is titled "Plan of artificial harbor & project for descent of ridge." The artificial harbor is shown at center, which occupies 100 acres and is projected to lay about 120 feet above the level of the river. Two related insets.

Dark impression with some light toning along one fold and the centerfold, tissue reinforcement on some folds, still very good for a map of this size.
