A large impressive sea chart covering the coast of present day Mauritania and the Western Sahara from Cape Blanco north. Beautifully costumed figures and a vignette depicting a hunting scene flank the large title cartouche. The map is further embellished with a small oared ship, compass roses, and a decorative scale of miles featuring a mermaid.

Sharp impression with good margins all around. Couple of tiny tears at edges, not affecting map. Brown paper hinge remnants on verso.
