Good detail throughout, locating the railroads; North Missouri, Hannibal & St. Joseph, and the Pacific Railroad, and showing the right-of-way for the Southern Pacific RR and the extent of its land grants. Shows copper and iron deposits in hand color with a long note on the Iron Mountain region. First edition with original color and signed in the plate the Commissioner, Jos. S. Wilson.

Backed with original linen, and close binding trim, as issued. Toned and light scattered foxing. Two splits along folds archivally repaired on verso.
