Very large and exceptionally graphic map of the region around Zagan and Szprotawa. Filled with details of the towns and villages, roads, and rivers throughout the region. Locates Priebus, Sagan, Sprottau, Wartenberg, Grunberg, and Naumberg. Huge decorative cartouche features hunting scenes, metal forging, weapons and the official crest. Zagan (Sagan) is the site of the infamous Stalag Luft III POW camp that inspired the book and movie the "Great Escape" which was based on an escape in March 1944 that resulted in the execution of 50 POW's.
