Second, translated and edited by Antonio Pace, Joseph and Nesta Ewan, is the first complete translation from the original Italian published in 1790. Castiglioni was one of the few Italians to travel in the region from Massachusetts to Georgia. It is an interesting report on the new nation, with particular attention to its natural features, flora, fauna, and contemporary society.
