Interesting map showing the voyages of exploration including Mindana, Magellan (erroneously marked 1720), Quires, de la Maire, Tasman, Halley, Anson and those of the Russians in 1741. In North America there is a huge Sea of the West, a Northwest Passage, and an very elongated Alaska. The map is flanked by panels of French text (overall size with text is 19 x 11").
