Pair of copper engraved map of the Kourile Islands north of Japan. First, by J. Laurent (10.4 x 9.5") is embellished by a fully colored cartouche. Second, (7.8 x 9.5") from a Dutch edition of Cook's Voyages, includes a fully colored inset of a coastal view of Japan. Cook's track of 1779 is shown through the islands.
