Lot of two interesting items describing Stanley's explorations in Africa. First is a double-page map titled Mr. H.M. Stanley's Explorations in the Dark Continent - Map of the Route and a Portrait Group of the Officers of his Expedition. The map lithographed map (20 x 6") shows his route on a sheet with the portraits and text describing the itinerary. It was published by A.K. Johnson. Second is a complete 32 pp. folio issue titled The Emin Pascha Relief Expedition printed for the Illustrated London News, March 3, 1890. Included are a map and numerous engravings including a fine tinted lithographed portrait of Stanley.
