Charming map of the island filled with information concerning the mountains, forests, cities and ports. Columbus first visited Hispaniola in 1492 and it is there that his flagship, the Santa Maria, ran aground somewhere on the north coast of Haiti. The map is adorned by a title cartouche with two natives and a scene of the explorers erecting a cross in the background.
