Very graphic thematic map of the world. Varying shades of red indicate the force and frequency of earthquakes. Blue coloring in ocean indicates the extent of reefs. Two graphics at bottom give the mountain ranges of the world in profile with the volcanoes shown in black. An fine example of the large amount of information that can be shown on a well-designed thematic map. Plus an engraved sheet from System of Geography that shows volcanoes of the world, a large globe and other diagrams (16 x 7") hand colored, circa 1810, engraved by Robert Scott who worked for Fullarton and Thomson.

Lovely coloring. Centerfold splits at bottom, a little toning, else very good.
