This uncommon map of Asia is well rendered and extends to include all of the East Indies. This is one of the first maps to name Alaska (Alghka), which appears in the upper right corner of the map as a long peninsula and series of small islands. Australia is obscured by an ornate title cartouche featuring the allegorical portrayal of Asia, represented as a maiden sitting on a camel surrounded by putti and the rich abundance of the continent.
