This is the complete American volume of the atlas, also known as the Diamond Atlas. Title page, preface, contents, text and scores of hand colored maps concentrating on the United States. There are individual state maps, hemispheres, several thematic world maps, North America, Canadian provinces and regional maps of the West Indies, Central and South America. This New Orleans edition of the Diamond Atlas is very scarce. Hardbound with gilt-stamped full leather cover, 8vo, 240 pages, gilt on all fore edges.
