A very interesting thematic map that shows the average temperature and amount of rain across the United States. The map is printed in black & white with red overprinting to indicate the isothermal lines of mean temperature for the year, winter, and summer. Rainfall is indicated through the use of shading. This is a stone engraved map and the sand-like grains of the stone are clearly visible in the shaded area. A "Climatological Description" by Lorin Blodgett covers both blank pages on verso.
