This is the second state of Stoopendaal's double hemisphere from a Dutch Bible based on Visscher's similar map of 1663 and surrounded by allegorical representations of the continents. It has been updated here to show California as an island with a flat northern coastline, Australia's western and northern coastlines, a revision in the coastline for New Guinea, and the addition of some islands in the South Pacific. Diagrams of the Copernican and Ptolemaic solar systems rest between the hemispheres. This is the small version of this world map, without the banner title.

Very sharp impression, with slight text showing through at top. Minor paper restoration in margins, which are normally well worn in Bible maps. One minor area of paper weakness in title, expertly strengthen on verso.
