Nice map depicting Mexico and the region recently acquired by the United States in both the Mexican/American War and the Gadsden Purchase. It provides good detail of the Californian missions and early forts throughout the Southwest. A large misshapen Texas includes extensive early details. Inset map of Central America. Engraved by Sidney Hall. This lithograph map is a nice example of the combination of early printed color (Mexico) and outline color applied by hand on the boundaries.
