First state of this fine small map focusing on the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean but also including the southern part of North America through Central America and the northern part of South America. Detail is mostly confined to the Spanish possessions with a number of early missions and settlements named in Nouveau Mexique. Includes an interesting portrayal of Florida with the tip consisting of several large islands. The title appears within a decorative cartouche at upper center next to an inset map of the Azores.
