Decorative map of the island of Björkö in Lake Mälaren locating the ancient Viking city of Birka. This island was an important trading site and international harbor of the Viking Age. Also shown are the city of Hovgården and the medieval castle of Alsnöhus on the island of Adelsö. North is oriented to the left by a compass rose and the map is adorned with a title cartouche and lovely border.
