This map is derived from the Nicolas Visscher map of 1658, with a similar combination of the Blaeu type Great Lakes region and a Briggs type island of California. A depiction of the Fries voyage appears in the water north of Japan, and Tasman's discoveries are shown in New Zealand. The title is enclosed in a drape style title cartouche with branches above. Engraved by H. Mosting.

Two wormholes in map at lower left and in right margin. Manuscript brown ink in upper blank margin and some minor creases.
