A beautiful vellum leaf with calligraphy in the style of the Renaissance. This leaf was made in the nineteenth century when all things medieval became the rage and the art of illumination was taught to young gentlewomen. This is a very fine example of a French illumination with a prayer surrounded in an elaborate border in blue, green red and gold. Verso is blank.
