In this pamphlet Karpinsky describes the institutions in North America that hold collections of maps and related material. Beginning with the Library of Congress he summarizes the collections of at least 14 institutions including the New York Public Library, Yale University Library, the Huntington Library, Harvard, the Newberry Library, the Canadian Archives in Ottawa, and more. Importantly this issue is signed in ink on the cover by Mr. Karpinsky, "Compliments of Lewis Karpinsky." An important document for those collecting cartographic autographs.
