A rarely offered relief map that is a remarkable demonstration of craftsmanship. The map is composed of layers of cloth, plaster and papier mache, molded to show the topography of the United States. Coloring is a combination of printed and hand coloring. In its original carved wooden frame, measuring 34" x 47.5". This map was recovered from a school house in Tombstone, Arizona.

Marginal stains, some scattered foxing or darkening of varnish, and minor warping of boards. Wooden frame has lost most of the original varnish. Puncture in South Dakota with short tear into Nebraska, else good.
