First (10.2 x 7") is a fine bird's-eye plan of the city and harbor with ships at anchor and even a gallows in the foreground. Second (13. X 8.5") is a handsome map centered on Hispaniola and including Puerto Rico, the eastern part of Cuba, the Turks and Caicos, and the Bahamas as far north as Cat Island. The German title gives Hispaniola as Hayti, an Arawak Indian word meaning land of the mountains” Published in a German edition of Prevost's l'Histoire Generale des Voyages.
