First (17.5 x 6.6") is a very detailed map of this fortified peninsula with all buildings, barracks, roads and batteries noted. An inset of the Bay of Gibraltar and two compass roses complete the handsome composition. Drawn by John Gibson and published in the Gentleman's Magazine, March 1762. Second (4.8 x 6") depicts the important strait and its fortifications. It was published by Joyce Gold in the Naval Chronicle, March 1818.
