A terrific historical atlas with title page, two fold-out descriptive pages, and ten hand colored maps including two folding. The last map is mostly a thematic chart giving a chronological history of the rise and fall of "Empires of the World" with a small inset map titled "Romani Imperii &c Typus." Hardbound small folio, 3/4 leather. A very nice example of this atlas.

Condition: A

Maps are all fine - clean, bright examples that are beautifully hand colored. Covers rubbed with a little loss to some leather at tips. Title page lightly toned, and the final map has a touch of light toning or offsetting.
