This is one of the first maps to show the political divisions of North America following the Revolutionary War. The map is dated April 10, 1783, nearly five months prior to the signing of the Treaty of Peace on September 3. The map was likely based on the preliminary articles of peace in 1782. Other examples of this map are dated June 1, 1783 - making this an even earlier publication.
