This lovely map of the Duchy of Mansfeld is based on the Tilemann Stella map of 1561. This is the first state, finely engraved by Frans Hogenberg with mountains, forests, swamps, cities and villages. Title is in a picture frame-style cartouche. Latin text on verso with page number 28.

Condition: B

Dark, early impression. Slight color bleed through on verso and lightly toned at centerfold, else very good.
