Handsome map of the territory assigned to half the tribe of Manasseh by Moses. This territory on the east side of the River Jordan is sometimes called "the land of Gilead," or "on the other side of Jordan." It embraced the whole of Bashan and was bounded on the south by Mahanaim, and extended north to Lebanon. Christian Adrichom was a Dutch clergyman and student of biblical geography. He is best known for his "Theatrum Terrae Sanctae", first published in 1590 and reissued several times throughout the 17th century.
