Strongly engraved copperplate map centered roughly on the Straits of Malacca and Sincapore, including southern Malaysia and most of Sumatra to about Jambi. Many place names including Malacca, Anchin (Aceh), Borneo, etc. The seas are filled with rhumb lines and a fine compass rose. French edition of Dampier's New Voyage Round the World.

Dark, early impression and good color. Narrow margins, apparently as issued. Lower corner replaced in facsimile affecting border and the word miles.
