Three small copper engravings copied from Theodore de Bry's famous description of the New World. First two (7 x 5.3") are from Pieter van der Aa's Naauwkeurge versameling der gedenkwaardigste zee-en land-reysen, a series of accounts of various voyages, 1707. These show scenes of native Floridians in ceremony and hunting a crocodile. Third (4.3 x 6") is from Alain Manneson Mallet's Description de l' Univers, 1683. It shows a Virginian Indian village with the cartouche fashioned from a view of the great chief Powhatan seated on his throne surrounded by his subjects.
