This fascinating map of Central Asia and the regions of Tibet and Nepal is one of the most interesting of Munster's Ptolemaic maps. The map is flanked by depictions of fantastic humanoid creatures reported to inhabit the region. These monstrosities were based on a combination of classical writings, legends and medieval traveler's tales. In the upper part of the map is a scene showing Anthropophagi (cannibals) carving up a person.
