Finely engraved and detailed map covering all of the region from the Baltic Sea across Siberia and south into China including Korea, Japan and Formosa. Decorative cartouche contains an archer and bear. A less elaborate cartouche at upper left encloses a French title "Carte generale d'Empire de Russie et de Tartarie grande et petite en Europe et Asie." This is a revised edition of a 1730 map with the secondary cartouche revised. The 1739 date appears below the bottom neatline.
