Fine copper plate maps engraved by R.W. Seale. The maps are from a set of five after d'Anville that were "Examined & Improved by Mr. Bolton." These sheets cover the area from Japan south to Formosa (Taiwan) and west to the Kobi or great Sandy Desert. Remarkable detail with literally hundreds of place names including cities, mountains, rivers, etc., with the uncommon "Gulf of Corea" named instead of the Sea of Japan. Includes four distance scales. Unjoined and each sized as given.
