This finely engraved map illustrates the travels of Diego Lopez de Sequeira in the region in 1518 when he became the governor of the Portuguese possessions in India. The map covers the Maldives, Sri Lanka, the Nicobars Islands, and northern Sumatra. Embellished with a pictorial title cartouche.

Fine impression and huge original margins. Small manuscript ink mark at bottom right corner, still fine.
