Great engraving illustrating the Battle of Nieuport in 1600 in which the Dutch Army led by Maurice of Nassau defeated the Spanish Army. The scene shows the armies and cavalry engaged on a narrow band of beach at the mouth of the Nieuport River with the navies gathered in the background. A legend at the bottom identifies the troops of the Dutch and Spanish forces.
