Crisply engraved chart of the state shows the extent of development and status of surveying in 1872. There is early county development with the center of the state still unorganized. Place names include scores of small towns and villages, forts, coastal detail and watershed. Surveyed townships are noted. The Oregon California R.R. extends from Oakland north to E. Portland, and the Oregon Central R.R. runs between Portland and the vicinity of Lincoln. Attractive sheet is accentuated with original delicate pastel coloring.
