Important, early chart of the harbor shows Rio Janeiro in block plan form. All islands and coastal features with many soundings and anchorages are shown. Fine compass rose with fleur-de-lys and rhumb lines embellish this large copper engraved chart. The Neptune Orientale was one of the most significant hydrographical atlases of the eighteenth century

Very nice example with original margins and a crisp impression. Near fine with just a few faint spots at lower right.
