Pair of charts show the fortress of Montmelian in the Duchy of Savoy-Piemont. First is a fortification plan and the second shows the fortress' location atop a mountain overlooking the Isere River. Nicolas de Fer held the title of Geographer at Louis XIV's court. He was one of the most prolific publishers of plans of European cities in the late seventeenth century.
