Attractive pair of maps on a double sheet. Hand colored in the oceans and land with full wash in only two colors. Nicely detailed with notations of 19th century discoveries. Each is surrounded in the distinctive Colton scroll border. Dated 1855, but published in a later edition of this atlas, circa 1880.

Map is in fine condition, but margins are toned and a little brittle. Center split, some marginal tears or cracks, most closed on verso with archival tape.
