Very uncommon and elegant chart covering southern India and Sri Lanka. The map also details the Maldives, islands of Lakshadweep, the Andaman Islands, and most of Bangladesh and the mouth of the Ganges. Cantelli introduced a bold engraving style that was followed and further developed by Coronelli. The spectacular title cartouche features a large elephant ridden by a spear carrying, costumed handler and two monkeys.
