A nice pair of 17th Century maps. The first is by Alain Manesson Mallet, Paris, 1683, 4.3" x 5.6". This attractive copper engraved map of Africa has a simple block title cartouche, along with figures and an alligator. The second is by Philipp Cluver, Dantzig, ca. 1672, 4.8" x 4.8". This copper engraved map features the Ptolemaic lakes as the source of the Nile, and a west flowing Niger River.
