This fine miniature map is from this plagiarized Italian version of Ortelius' pocket atlas. The map is derived directly from the American map in the 1577 miniature atlas, which is a reduced version of the folio version of 1570. Even the bulge in the southwestern coastline of South America is present - even though it had already been corrected in the folio version of this period. Italian text below and on verso. Published by Pietro Marchetti.
