Illustrated double title page. Includes 76 plates, full-page and double page reproductions of sea charts in full color and black-and-white text illustrations. Hardbound in blue cloth with blind-stamped title on front cover and gilt-stamped spine title, illustrated dust jacket. Second is by Lynn Glaser, Philadelphia Associated Antiquaries, 1989, 8.8 x 11.2". Hardback in brown cloth, with illustrated dust jacket. 252 pages, illustrated with numerous reproductions. An interesting history of the Americas in maps and art during the 16th century as Europeans began to discover the New World. Pair of reference books.
