This remarkable collection includes the entire set of maps of North America beginning with the index sheet, which identifies the 14 numbered sheets. It also includes elevation profiles of the Welland, Rideau, Erie, Pennsylvania, and the Chesapeake and Ohio Canals. An extensive table gives population figures for each state and territory from the Census of 1830. Each additional map carries the title "North America" followed by a sheet number and description as follows:
Sheet I Nova Scotia with Part of New Brunswick and Lower Canada
Sheet II Lower Canada and New Brunswick with Part of New York, Vermont and Maine
Sheet III Upper Canada with Parts of New-York, Pennsylvania and Michigan (oversized map folds at left edge, as issued)

All are finely engraved and filled with the terrific detail for which the society's maps are renowned. The complete set is rarely seen on the market. These were published under 3 different publishers from 1833 to the early 1840's.

Condition: A
All with fine impression and original outline color. All are generally very good with a few minor spots; Sheet IX with spot at upper corner, Sheet III has a few spots and some fold toning. All with typically close, but original margins.
