This rarely seen map locates all of the military forts in the United States. It was originally included in the Statistical Report on the Sickness and Mortality in the Army of the United States Embracing a Period of Sixteen Years, from January, 1839, to January, 1855. Prepared under the Direction of...Thomas Lawson, Surgeon General United States Army. Ordered by Secretary of War Jefferson Davis, this was the first such report since 1840. Lithography by Ackerman Lith, 379 Broadway, NY.
