These four little ephemeral booklets are comprehensive traveler's guides to the railway, steamboat, and stagecoach routes throughout New England. The lot contains four issues; December 1849, February 1850, September 1855 and May 1857. Each has an index to railroad stations, steamers, list of principle towns and stations, baggage regulations, and "Standard of Time." They are filled with time tables for nearly 100 railroads and numerous illustrated advertisements. Each has a similarly titled folding "Map of Railways in New England and Part of New York," approximately 7 x 8.8". The three latest editions also have a map of the City of Boston on the verso of this map. Each map is different; the 1855 & 1857 maps are 'negative' maps on a black background with white lines.

Remarkable condition considering their ephemeral nature. Paper covers with a little wear or some stains, contents very good.
