This great pocket map by the Colton firm was published for Hoyt, Fogg & Donham of Portland, Maine. Printed on fine, banknote style paper, the hand colored map folds into its original brown blind-stamped boards with gilt title "Map of Maine. Railroad & Stage Directory. 1880." The map is very detailed and fully engraved to show all counties, roads, towns, villages and settlements, railroads, and post offices. It is surrounded by Colton's decorative strapwork border common to their maps of the 1850's.

The map has nice original coloring with a couple fold intersection splits, else very good. Cover with a few spots and some lifting of cloth from boards.
