This is a large, unusual double hemisphere map showing the continents with only their major river systems and lakes. Much of the cartography is considerably outdated. In North America, there is a prominent Sea of the West located far to the north of where it is usually depicted. Alaska is shown as an elongated landmass stretching toward Asia. In Africa, the Nile is shown originating in tiny twin lakes located north of the Equator. Australia is very misshapen with Tasmania still attached, and an incomplete northern coastline still attached to New Guinea. The spheres are surrounded with French text titled, "De la division du globe terrestre."
